1. Product concept selection
At first, it was a radical choice to choose the intention of fruit among many concepts. The intention of choosing food with a strong contrast with metal materials is to highlight our brand tone with unreasonable associations. At the same time, fruit, as a common food, is printed with trend symbols due to various brand hype. The two attributes of rebellion and mediocrity coexist in them in a superimposed state. This subtle state makes us love it, so we made up our minds, and the fruit season came into being.
As the first product of the fruit season, we like the banana because of its sex-related taste. The extremely coquettish attribute makes this slider not only cool, but also trendy. We hope that it will not only appear on the desktop, but also be regarded as a real EDC. When you take it out and meet old friends, can you take it out of your pocket and say: Brother, look! My banana.
2. Product design ideas
From the beginning, we abandoned the idea of graphic design and innovated from the perspective of industrial design. Therefore, we excluded the traditional square shape of most sliders on the market and designed the first special-shaped magnetic slider on the market while trying our best to adapt to the feel. As for the decision-making of the push card type, the mechanical slider, which is currently in a hot trend in the market, has occupied the mainstream. After repeated consideration, I always want to bring a wave of return to the original 0G rhythm. After all, most players start to contact the circle from the magnetic slider.
In fact, the most difficult point in the design is the connection between the push card process and the banana. If only three pieces of the same shape are stacked together, then it can also be a pineapple or a watermelon, but that has nothing to do with the slider, and it can only be said to be a forced application. At first, I wanted to associate the card-pushing process with banana peeling, but I racked my brains and had no inspiration. After thinking for a long time, I thought that it could be associated with quantity. After all, the quantifier "a bunch" is the shape of bananas in people's first impression, and the number of layers of the slider better matches the intention of "a bunch". So the association between the card-pushing process and bananas became: before pushing, it is a banana, and after pushing, it is a bunch of bananas.
In order to make the shape three-dimensional and rich, we made unequal distance design at the chamfer of the contour, and the four grooves on the plane also deconstructed the irregular contour, making the curve turn logical, and the groove design is more conducive to subsequent extension and more possibilities for players to DIY.
