Detailed optimizations in the X55 optimized version:
1. Compared to the old version, the chamfered edges of the base plate are deepened, further reducing the sharpness.
2. The corners have been hardened, significantly reducing the probability of dents from drops (the video below includes a drop test from a height of 40-50cm, the normal sitting height for playing).
3. The screw hole in the center of the base plate is further deepened.
4. The author has pre-applied threadlocker to the screw in the center of the base plate. However, we understand that many users will try to adjust the internal magnetic strength themselves after receiving the product. Therefore, this version will include an extra tube of 243 medium-strength blue threadlocker (243 threadlocker is a removable type, allowing for disassembly after installation).
Dimensions: Length 46mm, Width 29mm, Thickness 13mm; Weight: Approximately 61g
The large magnet measures 7*3mm. The small magnet measures 5*3mm.
Following the huge success of the X3 slider, 3DX released their new product, the X55 slider, which features several changes compared to the X3:
1. The 3D-printed base plate of the X3 slider has been replaced with a CNC-machined 304 stainless steel base plate, improving durability and providing a stronger tactile feedback upon impact.
2. The outer shell still uses a 3D-printed material (ABS, PETG, or PLA; the material may vary slightly depending on the color, but all are very impact-resistant), and the surface is coated with a protective paint, improving the feel and protecting the surface texture.

3. The base plate has been upgraded from the X3, allowing for easy replacement of the magnets, enabling switching between a 6+8 structure and a 6+6 linear slider magnet structure.

4. The packaging has been changed from a cylindrical shape to a rectangular flat box. Please do not discard the box; the back of the box has a magnetic metal plate that provides a stable platform for magnet replacement.

5.Similar to the X3, the author has included enough washers of various materials in the box for DIY projects. The magnetic force of the magnet can be fine-tuned by replacing or adding washers of different materials.

Here is my (bigwhite yang's) feedback after using it for a few days.
The X55 is a significant improvement over the X3. In default mode, it requires slightly more pushing force than the X3, and its thickness has been reduced somewhat.
The surface of the casing is noticeably smoother than the X3, with a much better feel, but this also results in a slight decrease in friction.
The embedded metal plate on the outer shell is a delightful and ingenious design, and it's very user-friendly for toys like mine that are a bit clumsy with my hands. When replacing the magnets, please don't forget this little creative idea from the author.
